Secuing Your Health
How many of us have considered what would happen to our lives, and the lives of our loved ones, if we encountered a catastrophic illness. We prepare wills, purchase life insurance and then usually just pray for the best. Preparing properly for a life altering illness should take at least an equal place in our planning.
Follow me in these pages and my tweets as I share tools for helping to do the proper planning, and sharing the most up to date information from around the medical community.

Lantus might cause cancer
In Saturday mornings Wall Street Journal, a study was reported that links Lantus with the increased possibility of cancer. There might be as high as a 31% increase among those that are obese, have high blood pressure and are elderly while taking this particular insulin replacement.
Please check with you Doctor as to your situation. DO NOT stop taking Lantus until you have discussed this with your Health professional.

Day One Beaumont Four Eyes And Ears
Always confusing, what happened? what hurts? when did it start? when did it end?..... you get it all these questions over and over again. So confusing. So scary. So vulnerable.
I just went through it for about the 30th time in 4 years and I still do not think I got any of the answers right.
Who are your doctors? What meds do you take? Who is your representative? So much to know when all you want to do is get some help to feel better.
I should be flying back to Florida today with my children and wife. What was I thinking?
I leave you with a bit of advice, no matter what your health, start a log of your meds. Include the name, date first prescribed, dosage, and prescribing Dr. Keep it with you.
